The cap of snow and ice that has formed on the roof of my car has been subjected to the same freezing and thawing of that on the ground. Delicate fingers of ice reach out from the massive mounds of snow. Along roadsides, the directional spray of passing cars carve seemingly sharp claws of ice, all pointed the same direction and colored a dirty gray.
